The Armies of Legarion

Black Falcons

The Falcon Empire has had a rocky past with us Lion Knights. The Black Knight, their first emperor, became insane and declared war on us in order to steal the Ember Goblet, an artefact of unfathomable value.

Even after the death of the Black Knight relations between the Lion Knights and the Falcon Empire have been difficult. Periods of peace between our nations and even alliances against other forces alternated with all out war. The Empire weakened and the Falcons retreated back to where they once came.

The Black Falcons have not caused any trouble for centuries. They steadily built up their powerful empire as neutral neighbours to the Lion Knights, until recently.

Queen Eleonora recieved a letter stating that the Falcon Empire had fallen. After a long war, their armies were defeated by Basil the Batlord and his troups. Duke Radcliffe took what remained of his forces, as the Emperor had been killed, and fled to the land of the Lion to build up a new alliance. They arrived just in time to join the battle at Castle Lionne, and fend of the trolls.

Duke Radcliffe

Duke Radcliffe

Once a noble at the court of the Falcon Emperor, Radcliffe was a loyal knight. At the hight of the empire's power, he commanded 5 legions of the Falcon army, who were all destroyed by the Undead Army. Radcliffe has sworn to protect his people from the Forces of Evil in order to restore the glorious empire he served so proudly.

Weaponsmaster Claus

Weaponmaster Claus

Weaponmaster of the Falcon army, Claus was responsible for the equipment of the soldiers of the Emperor. He was one of the few survivors of the battle at Falcon's Nest, the fortress of the Emperor. Claus now serves under Duke Radcliffe, as general and advisor. His heavy warhammer was a symbol for his rank as weaponmaster.

Commander Clara

Commander Clara

Daughter of the Weaponmaster, Clara grew up among soldiers and weapons. At a young age she showed great skill wielding her massive pole-axe designed to cleave through undead soldiers. Her prowess and hard work earned her a commander title, and she now leads the remains of the Falcon Army into battle.

Black Falcon Army

Army structure and equipment

After the Fall of the Falcon Empire not much is left of the once mighty 15 legions that made up the Falcon Army. The command structure started with 4 Generals who each commanded 3 to 5 legions. Each legion was split up into centuries and cohorts, commanded by centurions and captains.

Falcon soldiers wore blue surcoats over mail armour. A silver and black falcon crest adorned their chest. The common soldier wore nasal helmets to protect their head and wielded a spear and shield. Heavy knights and commanders wore extra protection in the form of shoulder plates and more protective helmets like greathelms and visored bassinets. The Black falcons also had heavy cavalry and archers.

The Emperor wielded a Gemblade before he was killed. After his death his black magical sword was claimed by Basil the Batlord. The Falcons don't posses a Gemblade at the moment.
